Hello Gators!

Just a few quick updates for the upcoming weeks…normal practice this week. If you are using the Swim A Thon as your fundraiser and have not let me know, please do so! We will let swimmers do this during a practice this coming week.

We have an AWAY swim meet this Wednesday, July 15, in Gordonsville. The pool address is 100 Allen Street but there is NO parking at the pool due to construction. You will be able to drop off your stuff at the pool and then park at the Gordonsville Fire Department (located two blocks away). I will be sending out a map of the area so you know where to go. I am waiting to hear from Gordonsville but I think they have a van running back and forth from pool to parking lot…I will keep you updated. Please arrive by 5:00…I will update you on where we are sitting and warm-up times. We will need our normal volunteers so please be sure to sign up. Also, make sure I know if your swimmer is not competing this week.

Family Picnic, Friday, July 16 6:30-8:30. Please bring a side dish and dessert to share with everyone. We will provide hot dogs, buns, condiments, utensils, plates & napkins. Please bring whatever your family would like to drink.

JSL Championship Meet – July 24 & 25, Brooks Family YMCA in Charlottesville. The only requirement to participate in this swim meet is to have been in two meets during our regular season. ALL Swimmers will be entered into this swim meet unless you let me know you are NOT attending. There are four sessions based on age groups. Swimmers will only be swimming in one session. I will have lots of details and information regarding this meet including arrival times and warm-ups next week but here is the tentative schedule – session age groups will NOT change but times may be adjusted depending on number of swimmers entered in each session.

Here is the current (TENTATIVE) schedule:

Friday, July 24 Session 1, Ages 11-12, approximate times 9:30 AM-1:30 PM

Session 2, Ages 13-14 & 15-18, approx. times 1:45- 6:55 PM

Saturday, July 25 Session 3, Ages 6 & Under and 8 & Under, approximate

times 7:30 AM – 12:15 PM

Session 4, Ages 9-10, approximate times 12:30 – 5:10 PM

It is SUPER IMPORTANT that I know if your swimmer is NOT attending! Entries are due on Friday and I will NOT be able to make changes once submitted. If your child is not participating in the JSL Champs their FINAL practice will be Friday, July 17.

Ribbons for all meets (excluding this week & Champs) will be available at the pool beginning tomorrow evening! Please be sure to pick them up!

Hopefully the weather will cooperate a bit more this week so we can get a few practices in the pool! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
