FUMA Pool Facility Information 

Thank you for attending our meet at the Fork Union Military Academy Aquatic Center. Please review the following information prior to arriving at the facility. Parking: Please observe the campus speed limit of 15 mph at all times. Parking near the pool is very limited. Overflow parking is available just up the hill from the Aquatic Center near the basketball courts. Parking is limited to assigned parking spots only. A parking marshal will be available to help direct vehicles to appropriate parking locations. Please note, we can not park on the grass off the side of the road leading down to the pool. The following reserved parking spaces are located near the pool entrance: ● Handicap parking ● Meet Referee ● Starter ● Head Coach (one per team) ● Meet Director (one per team) ● Computer Operator (one per team) Accessibility Note Spectators who have difficulty with stairs may find it challenging to access the viewing area from the main pool entrance. We recommend entering through the front entrance of the Estes Athletic Center (near the basketball courts) and proceeding through the main lobby to access the spectator viewing area to avoid stairs. 

Bathrooms & Locker Rooms: Locker rooms are available on the pool deck for swimmers. A separate restroom on the pool deck is reserved for coaches and meet volunteers. Bathrooms for parents and spectators are located upstairs in the main lobby. Signs will be posted throughout the facility to help direct guests. Because locker room space is limited, swimmers are encouraged to arrive dressed and ready for the meet. 

Seating Areas: A large spectator viewing balcony is available for families and spectators. This area is not divided by team. To help keep floors safe and dry, swimmers should avoid going upstairs to the viewing area between races. Only swimmers, coaches, meet volunteers, and designated team photographers are permitted on the pool deck. This helps reduce congestion on the pool deck during the meet. Swimmers may remain on the pool deck between races and use the bleachers provided. FAST team seating is located on the right side of the pool upon entering the facility. Visiting team areas will be clearly marked on the pool deck. Outdoor Seating Area: A large concrete area outside the pool entrance is available for families who wish to set up chairs during the meet. This can be a good option for younger swimmers who may need to spend time with parents between events. Please note: ● This area is not divided by team. ● Families should bring their own chairs/shade. ● No shade/seating is provided in this area. 

Hydration: With a large number of athletes, coaches, volunteers, and spectators in an indoor facility with large windows during the summer, the pool deck and spectator areas can become quite warm during a meet. Everyone is encouraged to bring water and stay hydrated throughout the meet. All volunteers and coaches will be provided with cold water throughout the meet. Photography: Each team may designate one photographer to be on the pool deck during the meet. For the safety of swimmers and officials, photographers may not take photographs from behind the starting blocks. Please remain clear of starting areas, timing equipment, and officials while taking photographs. All other spectators should view the meet from the designated spectator areas and are not permitted on the pool deck. 

Facility Policies: ● No smoking is permitted anywhere on campus. ● No alcoholic beverages are permitted anywhere on campus. ● Please help us keep the facility clean and respect all FUMA property and staff. ● Follow all instructions from meet officials, coaches, and facility staff.
